What we do

Four services. Fees on the page.

Because hiding the number until the third conversation wastes the first two.

01

Talent Mapping

Who is out there, what they realistically cost, which competitors are losing people, and whether the role as scoped is fillable at your budget. Delivered as a written report in two weeks, and yours to keep whether or not you ever hire through us.
From £2,000 · fixed project fee
02

Contract and Interim

Day-rate Business Analysts, Delivery Managers, Product Owners and Agile specialists for programmes that need capability now. Pre-qualified, assessed against the role, available in days rather than weeks, with documented IR35 status throughout.
15 to 20% margin on the day rate
03

Assessment

You already have candidates, from your own network, a referral or another agency, and no independent read on their delivery capability. We run a structured assessment and hand back a written scorecard on each, with a clear recommendation.
£750 to £1,500 per assessed shortlist
04

Permanent Search

Retained search billed against milestones, or exclusive where you can commit three to four weeks. Contingency is available but taken selectively, because it rarely serves either side well.
15 to 25% of first-year salary
Market intelligence

Day rates barely differ. Demand does.

Three roles within £35 a day of one another, and a hundredfold difference in how many contracts exist. The kind of thing worth knowing before you plan a hire.

583

Where we specialise

Four disciplines. Chosen because we can assess them properly.

Deliberately narrow. These are the roles we have worked alongside for fifteen years, not a menu built to catch every enquiry.

Business Analysis

Business Analyst, Technical BA, Lead BA and Process Analyst. The highest-volume contract market in the UK by a wide margin.
Highest volume

Delivery and Programme

Delivery Manager, Agile Delivery Manager, Programme Manager and Digital Delivery Lead.
Highest day rates

Product

Product Owner, Product Manager and Head of Product. The discipline most often mis-hired.

Agile and Change

Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Transformation Lead and Change Manager.

The difference

Most recruiters cannot tell a good Delivery Manager from a plausible one.

Sourcing is close to free now, so anyone can find a CV. What is scarce is knowing whether the person actually ran the ceremony or merely attended it, and that only comes from having run them yourself.

A practitioner, not an account manager

Westcombe Talent is led by Harry Obeng: fifteen years in the software delivery lifecycle and over a decade as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach at Kingfisher, HMRC, Thomson Reuters, Vodafone and The AA. We screen the way your Head of Delivery would.

A written scorecard, every time

Every submission arrives with a structured assessment against the capabilities the role actually needs. Never a reformatted CV and a covering paragraph.

Market data, given away

Rates, salaries and where demand really sits, shared before you ask. If your budget is wrong for the market you hear it in the first call, not the fifth week.

One relationship, one person

No junior resourcer between you and the judgement you are paying for. The person who assessed the candidate is the person you speak to.

About

I spent fifteen years inheriting other people's hiring mistakes.

A programme gets funded, roles open, and the shortlists arrive full of people with the right words on their CV and none of the underlying capability. I would spend the first two sprints finding out.

The recruiters were not being dishonest. They simply had no way of telling the difference, because they had never done the job. That is a solvable problem, and solving it is the whole business.
